Meeting point project

Where is the cultural MEETING POINT in case of emergency?

“MEETING POINT” is a 2-year residency exchange program co-funded by Creative Europe Program and designed for performing artists from Denmark, Greece, Poland, and Ukraine. It aims to empower artists through masterclasses, residencies, and collaborative performances, addressing current issues like the war in Ukraine and promoting social inclusion. The project outlines management strategies, roles of partners, target audiences, and methodologies for cost-effectiveness, quality, risk management, and sustainability, emphasizing environmental sustainability and diversity.

Idea

The idea for “MEETING POINT” arises from the urgent need to address the impacts of crises—such as wars, economic downturns, political upheavals, and natural disasters—on the cultural sector. It seeks to empower artists from Denmark, Greece, Poland, and Ukraine by providing them with a platform for artistic exchange, learning, and collaboration. This initiative not only aims to foster resilience among artists facing these challenges but also to promote dialogue, reflection, and social inclusion through the arts.

Goals

The goals of “MEETING POINT” include empowering a new generation of performing artists through masterclasses, residencies, and collaborative performances, addressing critical social issues like the war in Ukraine, and promoting social inclusion and diversity. The project targets performing artists from Denmark, Greece, Poland, and Ukraine, aiming to foster dialogue and reflection on current issues, enhance audience engagement, and ensure environmental sustainability and diversity within the cultural sector.

Timeline

Kick-off: March 2024

Residencies: The first and second year residencies are crucial components of the project, with the first year focusing on residencies in Denmark, Poland, and Greece, and the second year specifically for Ukrainian artists in Denmark. These residencies are planned for November 2024 and summer 2025.

European Tour: Near the end of the project, a European tour is planned to showcase the collaborative works developed during the residencies. This tour will take place from month 20 to month 24 (M20–M24), aiming to reach a wide audience across the partner countries.

Each of these activities includes specific tasks such as the open call for artist participation, the creation and management of residencies, the organization of the European tour, and various evaluation and reporting measures.
